Fish oil provides two omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA, which are important nutrients for growing children. DHA is important for a child's developing brain, nervous system, and vision. As the body cannot produce enough omega-3 on its own, children need to get it from their diet or supplementation, if dietary intake is inadequate.
